Kazari Kanzashi made by artisans beautifully reproduce even movements of butterflies and flowers. They are used by Kabuki and Japanese classical dance performers. In the Edo era, people enjoyed personal adornment by wearing kimono with Edo-komon patterns that looked plain but were actually delicate and complex. Same-komon, the pattern used for kamishimo ceremonial dress by the Kishu Tokugawa family, is especially popular and well known.These card holders are produced with a traditional Japanese technique of drawing patterns on metal with a tool called tagane.
